Short Bio

My research focuses on designing and developing technologies in Computer Vision, Robotics, and Deep Learning.

Over the past years, my work is to research and develop new AI-based technologies to optimize the efficiency of processes over the full cycle of a retail business. With the team I lead, I develop practical computer vision solutions and study the real-world problem inspired research questions in this industry.

Before that, when I was a Research Scientist with Adobe Research, my work was on the research and development of computer vision technologies for better creative tools. The technologies I made major contribution to had been shipped in the company's most impactful products including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere, and etc.

I completed my Ph.D at Stevens Institute of Technology under the supervision of Dr. Gang Hua. My Ph.D thesis is on designing algorithms to localize and analyze human faces from images. At Stevens, I also lead the efforts to develop co-robot wheelchair to help patients with limited upper-body mobility to navigate more easily.
